The next Norcal Chapter training will be presented by Laura Chappell.   Here are some details on what the class will be on:

Join Laura Chappell for a look at the NSA leak that led to the release of EternalBlue and EternalRomance, elements we see now in various ransomware (including Wannacry). In addition, Laura will analyze Wannacry traffic using Wireshark network forensics techniques. Wireshark is the world’s most popular network analyzer with over 1 million downloads per month. Laura will be demonstrating new features of Wireshark v3 and building a live network forensics profile during this session. She will show you the key features to master for network forensics. All attendees will receive Laura’s “Network Forensics Cheat Sheet” as well as the “TCP Architectural Poster.”

Laura Chappell is the Founder of Protocol Analysis Institute, Wireshark University, and Chappell University and creator of the Wireshark Certified Network Analyst certification program. Laura has been analyzing traffic since 1990 and has the grey hairs to prove it! Her customers include many of the Fortune 100 companies, local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies. Her blend of humor and her love of packet-level life makes for an entertaining dive into network forensics. Laura can be reached at via email.

The meeting will be on August 7th, from 9-12pm, at the DOJ Advanced Training center located at 11181 Sun Center Drive Rancho Cordova, CA.  Please invite and bring whoever you want, they do not need to be a member to attend.  See you all then.
