Conducting Internal Investigations: Tools & Resources

 Presentation description:

Like technology, Investigations are constantly evolving and changing in the digital world.  Internal Investigations are equally important in this change as a company’s internal operations can be multi faceted and its personnel are a critical piece.  The key to a good internal investigation –  we must uncover the truth and the ‘insider threat’ without compromising the relationship with innocent employees or unnecessarily damaging anyone's reputation, including that of the company.

 Biography

Anthony is a Senior Investigator with the Bell Corporate Security team.  He is currently one of two specialists at Bell working on Signal Integrity with a focus to combat Piracy in Canada.  Prior to this, Anthony was an internal investigator with Bell to investigate security breaches and policy violations within the company. He is a member of HTCIA and ASIS where he has received his PCI (Professional Certified Investigator) certification.  He is passionate about his role and seeks out training/ information to maintain and update his skillset in understanding and mitigating threats against the company.  His experiences include internal audits of systems and applications, leading and conducting various types of investigations (as well as assist in screening protocols), identifying security gaps and developing solutions.  He has volunteered with police services in Ottawa and Toronto and continues his community involvement with organizations as a security expert to share his experience in mitigating risks and ensuring the objectives / interests of the organization(s) are protected.
