Speaker of the month will be Alex Braehler on "The Human Operating System".

Modern operating systems are very secure when installed and maintained properly. Most of the breaches begin with users revealing secrets. In this presentation, Alex will address the issues regarding:

  • Who are the attackers
  • Type of attacks
  • Why you may be a target
  • Where are you vulnerable
  • Insider and privilege misuse
  • What can you do?

Alexander Braehler is the founder and president of Tekkno Inc., a consulting firm in Santa Monica that caters to small and medium size businesses, and to Enterprise. Tekkno provides a wide range of IT services, consulting and education in Cyber Security. Alexander is a certified Electronic Data and Control Engineer and he holds a Meister Degree in Communications Engineering. Both are German, state-controlled, multi-year school programs that require final exams to become certified.

Alexander's passion for Apple Macintosh began when he attended his first technical training at Apple's German headquarters in Munich in 1986. At that time he worked for one of the first Apple Dealers in Germany. He fell in love with the American way of life when he visited the US to attend MacWorld in San Francisco in January 1989. Alexander immigrated to the USA in November 1996 and became US citizen in 2004. He founded the company in January 1997. He was a member of the Apple Consultants Network for 19 years, and left the program in May 2017. Alexander is active in the information security community, and is involved with a number of global security industry organizations, such as:

  • Cloud Security Alliance,
  • Open Web Application Security Project,
  • Information System Security Association.

Alexander has served on conference organizing committees for OWASP L.A. and ISSA L.A. He was last year’s president of the southern California chapter of HTCIA. He is an active member of Infragard and an Infrastructure Liaison Officer.
