Speaker: Brett Shavers

Brett Shavers is a digital forensics examiner whose experience includes a law enforcement career investigating cybercrime and serving as an expert consultant in civil litigation cases. Brett has a combined 1,000+ hours of formal digital forensics training from a variety of U.S. federal agencies and forensic software companies. He frequently speaks at conferences across North America and abroad, while regularly providing private consultation to government agencies in high-tech analysis and covert acquisition methods. He’s also an award-winning author of several respected books in subjects related to digital forensics including Placing the Suspect Behind the Keyboard, Hiding Behind the Keyboard, and the X-Ways Forensics Practitioner’s Guide.   Brett’s experience with the Windows Forensic Environment started during its inception by Troy Larson in 2008.  Since that time, Brett guided the development of WinFE by choosing a simpler build method, coordinating the software development of better write protection, and assisting in the development of WinFE training and beta testing programs across the USA.
